In past years we have held a retreat called EPIC. EPIC was about finding your place in the great story of redemptive history, but it focued on five specific areas of discipleship. We've re-worked the weekend and this year, we are simply referring to it as “The Five Pillars of New Testament Discipleship.” You can read more about the Five Pillars here. In fact we'll have study guides that go along with each one up on our website very soon.
The weekend retreat however will focus on one pillar at a time. This September we will feature “Engaging Culture,” while showing how all five fit together. This pillar focuses on recognizing and interpreting the worldviews and messages that are ubiquitous in our culture and then how we winsomely challenge that and seek to influence the surrounding culture for the kingdom of God.
